What It’s Like To Work With Me

Deciding on a photographer for your elopement or wedding is a big decision. I want you to be as informed as possible when considering me. So, what is it like to work with me?

If you landed on this page, you’re probably wondering what it’s like to work with me as your wedding or elopement photographer. You’re in the right place!

A while back I received an email from a couple the day after their elopement. They thanked me for my approach in photographing their day, here is what they had to say:

“We were talking at the end of the night about our favorite moments, and the things that surprised us the most, etc and, well, we kept returning to moments you enabled, caught on camera, and otherwise were a significant part. One of Adam’s favorites was sitting on the porch swing. And what surprised me most was how much I enjoyed meeting and working with you.

Nothing means more to me than my couples having an amazing experience in front of the camera, and providing them with photographs they love.

Taking a few portraits on their porch before the ceremony!

Your experience is my #1 priority

That’s me! And my sweet Koda <3

From the very start, I tailor my approach entirely to you. All of my couples have a unique vision for how they want to tell the story of their wedding day, and part of my process is creating an experience centered around your vision. Your wedding day shouldn’t be a cliche, and I strive to create a full-service, bespoke experience from your initial inquiry all the way through to the delivery of your album.

I also strive to be much more than just your photographer. I’m your problem-solver, sounding board, & I work diligently to be a resource for you. I’ll guide you through the whole process of creating an amazing wedding or elopement day… after 7 years and capturing 200+ weddings in New Orleans, you could say that I’ve learned a few things! Many of my couples utilize me for research & info gathering as well as helping them plan the logistics of their day. I’m a creative person who leaves no stone unturned, so helping each of my clients create their unique wedding or elopement experience is super fun for me!

After photographing so many elopements, I know it’s one hundred percent a myth that no effort goes into planning them. In fact, most couples I work with put a lot of brainpower towards creating an amazing day. As your photographer and guide, I’ll be available to help as much or as little as you need… everything from brainstorming your vision to finding vendors to figuring out the logistics to make it all happen seamlessly. I’ll be there every step of the way.

My philosophy: I believe in real moments & real emotions

We’ve all had the experience of seeing a photo that hits us right in the heart. They’re usually of moments that can never be recreated or reenacted; they’re a showcase of the human spirit. Would you love for your wedding photos to have that same impact?

Emotion-filled, moment-driven candids are my specialty. I’m not a photographer who poses your every move & I don’t fake or recycle poses that feel forced and awkward. I’d rather let all the good stuff happen naturally and be there to capture it when it goes down.

I also know when to step in and give direction. I’ll be there to guide you to the amazing light, tell you what to do with your hands, & make sure you look amazing. For the most part, though, I’m pretty hands-off at posing. Your personality is what should be captured in your photographs!

I love capturing the big moments, the little moments, and ESPECIALLY what I call the “moments between the moments”… your quick glances of adoration, the way you hold each other as you hug, how your eyes well up with tears as you say your vows… photos capture the heART of your wedding day & the love you share together.

That being said, your only job when you’re in front of my camera is to keep on doing whatever you’re doing & just be your wild, weird, passionate self. My objective is to capture your essence so that you look back on your photos and see YOU.

My Process

  1. Inquiry. You inquire, I respond, and we schedule a call to get on the same page. Let’s get the ball rolling!
  2. Phone call. We hop on a call, get to know each other, discuss your vision and make sure we’re a good fit. It’s like a first date but way less awkward. I like doing this because sometimes I’m not the photographer for you & that’s important to know because you deserve the best fit & photog who gets you.
  3. Custom package & quote. Based on everything we talked about during our conversation, I’ll put together three custom package options for you. You choose the one you feel is best.
  4. Booked. We both sign our agreement & you pay 50% of your collection’s price to reserve your date. Your wedding is on the books!
  5. Planning. I make myself available to help planning as much or as little as you need. Location scouting, vendor recs, logistics help, etc. You name it, I’ve got ideas.
  6. The big day. You say “I do” with the love of your life & have the best day! I’m there to capture it all. It’s amazing.
  7. Sneak peek. Within a week of your wedding, you’ll receive a sneak peek of your gallery.
  8. Gallery delivery. Finally! Your full gallery will go live 8 to 12 weeks following your wedding.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Nope! Just like not all cuts or scenes during filmmaking make the final masterpiece we see on the big screen, not all of the photos I take are included in the final gallery.

Curation is the unsung hero in creating because it’s what makes the masterpiece (your gallery!) so magnificent.
