Blaze and John Tie The Knot In The French Quarter

Blaze and John planned a romantic, intimate eclectic New Orleans Courtyard wedding on Royal Street in the French Quarter.

It seems like from the moment I first chatted with them, they spoke about each other in a way that made their love obvious. I heard the warmth in their voices as they took turns telling me about each other’s quirks, strengths, and dreams.

“Our love is sweet, respectful, and sure.” – Blaze

For their wedding, they rented a home through AirBnB on Royal St in New Orleans, with a carriage house and courtyard. I thought this was a good move because they were able to rent the home out for the entire weekend. This made things super easy. It also gave their family and friends a central place to hang out all weekend. Pretty cool, right?

As I expected, their wedding day beautifully expressed their personalities, and it made for such a charming setting!  As John got ready in the carriage house, Blaze perfected her look in the home’s beautiful upstairs. Downstairs, their closest family and friends came together to decorate and light candles in the courtyard.  The heart everyone put into this day certainly showed.  It truly was a time where their families came together and showered them with happiness.

Most noteworthy, John and the two families surprised Blaze with handwritten notes of love. She would see them as she walked down the alley and into the courtyard. Notes from friends and family were all there, and finally, John’s note was the last one… it was probably one of the most wonderful displays of love I’ve ever seen.
Jamie Gandy at Fifi Mahoney’s Salon on Royal Street styled Blaze’s hair. Hollie Girouard of Mais La designed and made Blaze’s wedding dress.
All in all, their wedding was a soulful celebration of love filled with laughter and tears and warm hearts.

As a couple, Blaze and John love to travel, have probably taste-tested more cheeseburgers than you, and they’re super involved in the local community – they’ve created a Mardi Gras krewe and even are partners in two restaurants, Pop’s PoBoys and Central Pizza & Bar.

I hope you enjoyed reading about their eclectic New Orleans courtyard wedding! If you’re interested in seeing more weddings or in need of some planning tips, be sure to check out the rest of the blog!
